WHY BAND & STRINGS?
Formal research and personal experience demonstrate many benefits to students learning to play an instrument.
Instrument instruction is offered as part of the Parkland School District's commitment to a well-rounded education involving Academics, Athletics and the Arts.
Currently, approximately 70% of Parkland elementary students participate in band or strings!
High school students who take music courses score significantly better on math, science and English exams than their non-musical peers, according to a new study published in the Journal of Educational Psychology. (Univ. of British Columbia, June 24, 2020)
